When approached to design this Sedan Motor Yacht, the clients had very specific ideas to be incorporated learnt from more than 20yrs boating in their present vessel.

The brief was for classic timeless styling. Daytime living to be on one level with good flow to the aft deck/cockpit with a minimal number of steps.

Under the aft deck to have dinghy stowage in a garage and walk in lazzerette. Cruise speed to be 20kts. The frd accommodation to have a double stateroom and bunk cabin for extended family. Master stateroom to be separated from the frd accommodation.

To achieve this we have designed the master stateroom amid-ships full width below the saloon complete with en-suit. Frd to stb is a double stateroom for guests or family and a four-berth cabin for grand children. To port is the head and laundry.

The galley and helm station are at the frd end of the saloon with pilothouse door access to the side decks

The aft end of the saloon has saloon opening out to the aft deck via a sliding companionway door and electric drop down window.
The side decks have low bulwarks for a feeling of security and to complement the styling

To achieve the stated performance we have chosen twin C9 Caterpillars @ 500hp on conventional shaft drives. Fuel capacity is 3000L.

Construction is from Glass, balsa, ply composite.

Highlander is another outstanding example of New Zealand boat building by the team at Allan Tongs Boatbuilders.
