Designed for an experienced yachtsman that required a vessel capable of cruising some of the more remote and rugged areas of the New Zealand coast. For this a traditional approach to styling was adopted with limited glazing on the forward screen and bulwarks around the deck to add security and safety.

Power comes from reliable Scania engines chosen for their large capacity to horsepower ratio. Te Whara’s hull form is fine entry developing aft to moderate deadrise to perform well in challenging conditions. The three-cabin layout and teak interior was crafted by the talented team at Allan Tongs Boatbuilders.
